In a rush? Rough draft legal transcripts can give you the advantage. The rough draft can aid in preparing for the next deposition and can also be easily shared with co-counsel or experts. A rough draft legal deposition transcript can deliver many advantages, including eliminating the need for notetaking, thus increasing the attorney’s comprehension and control.
Real-time court reporting allows you to read what is being said as it is being said and the option of a rough transcript for immediate use. View and annotate transcripts live during testimony. You can also search, mark key sections, and outline, all during testimony. Our real-time court reporters are experienced in real-time reporting with the highest credentials available in our profession.
They can also assist you in all the technical details such as set-up and connections, or simply set everything up for you with the screens, notebooks and devices they bring to your deposition. Save the transcript file and leave the deposition with your notes.

Mixing image and sound, video is indisputably more powerful and persuasive than the written word. Making a video record of a deposition allows the jury or others involved in the case to see and hear the demeanor and intonation of a witness in a way that cannot be conveyed on the printed page. Facial expressions, gestures, tonality and cadence combine to create a compelling visual and auditory argument. Some common nonverbal cues demonstrated through body language on video include: lack of eye contact, nervous fidgeting, an anxious tone of voice, stuttering and hesitation, or even becoming angry.
Moreover, through the use of our trained technicians, legal videography can translate complex data, text and evidence into understandable concepts, which allows technical information to be more effectively communicated to those involved in the case.
All of the above are reasons so many firms require video (and audio) for every legal deposition ordered.
Our legal services include depositions, courtroom/trial presentation, Picture-In-Picture, day-in-the-life videos, site inspections, and focus groups. We have the most skilled legal videographers ensuring that each question is answered in the deposition in full HD video resolution, captured in high bit-depth audio, and delivered within a tight time frame.
All Jan Brown & Associates legal videographers shoot in a digital format using professional-grade, high-definition cameras. A simultaneous video and audio backup is recorded for redundancy, and an MP3 file of the sound is recorded and handed off to the court reporter for quality assurance. Post-production services include nonlinear editing, media optimization and enhancement, duplication and conversion.
We have the experience, the equipment and the professionals!
We can synchronize your transcript to audio or video. Video-transcript synching combines the video and audio of a deposition with the transcript in a way that utilizes the advantages of all three. The end product is the video digitally synchronized with the corresponding audio and transcript produced by the court reporter and allows the user a multitude of options and flexibility for their legal video depositions. Simply click on the line of dialog in the transcript and the corresponding footage and sound is prompted at the exact moment the spoken testimony is delivered.
Quality assurance is key to a successful legal transcription. We catch the difficult words, do the research, and produce accurate deposition transcripts. Transcripts are delivered in your preferred format.
We can provide video editing services. We have extensive in-house video capabilities and we can turn around copies quickly and provide the very best in video editing. Sustained objections can be deleted prior to trial presentation. Specific clips of key testimony can be presented to the jury.
Introducing Picture-in-Picture (PiP)
Picture-in-Picture technology enables the user to combine separate video sources into a single image to be displayed live or saved into a single digital video file for later viewing. In short, it’s split-screen for depositions. For lawyers, this allows them to display footage of the deponent and exhibits simultaneously in a multi-window screen, as well as cementing their testimony for trial. PiP is especially effective in exhibit-intensive cases and with exhibits with drawings and witness markings on the document.
Greater Visual Impact
Picture-in-Picture video technology allows the videographer to show the deponent interfacing with an exhibit in the most visually optimal way possible. Rather than cross-cutting between a video of the deponent and another video of the exhibit, the operator can display both the subject and object simultaneously on the same screen: one portion of the screen shows a close up of the exhibit while a smaller window depicts the deponent’s reaction, maximizing the viewer’s understanding of the interaction overall.
Picture-in-Picture technology allows lawyers to present exhibits in close-up and in high-definition resolution. No more low resolution apprehension of your narrative! Lighting and field of view tailored to the exhibit ensures effective communication of the significance of your exhibits.
Greater Interactivity & Effortless
Users may mark, write, annotate or highlight exhibits being displayed in the picture-in-picture by drawing on a tablet that superimposes their markings over the said exhibit’s video feed. This allows lawyers to emphasize, deemphasize or clarify text, diagrams, and photographs, ensuring a correct and complete interpretation of the exhibit.
The overall value of Picture-in-Picture video is that it creates greater engagement with your narrative from judges and juries.
In short, Picture-in-Picture technology produces more compelling evidence for establishing your narrative and therefore can be very advantageous for complex litigation. Whether you want to display a PDF document, a JPEG image, a medical film, an employee's work history on LinkedIn, or show a short video clip on the internet, the versatility of Picture-in-Picture allows for endless possibilities.

Trial presentations are an extremely effective tool for helping jurors visualize and understand your complex case. With the right trial presentation, you can keep jurors engaged while enhancing their memory of your most important points.
The digital revolution has transformed courtroom presentations. What are the benefits of a digital trial presentation over its mechanical, analog counterpart?
Display large images of exhibits on courtroom monitors and large projection screens.
Increased Speed & Efficiency
The difference in efficiency between a mechanical presentation and a digital courtroom presentation is like that between a typewriter and a word processor.
Increased Flexibility & Responsiveness.
Move quickly between exhibits and present evidence in a non-linear, mosaic fashion - the way the human mind works - making your case more intelligible to judges, juries, arbitrators, and mediators.
Paperless Multimedia Presentation
However you choose to present your case, we can display the evidence. This includes all documents, photos, videos, trial documents, medical illustrations, and 3D animations.
This interactive approach will guide jurors through the case. Make your key points prominent with our ability to zoom-in, highlight, rotate, juxtapose, draw on, and annotate live in the courtroom.
Quantitative data can be visualized with graphs and charts.
Effortless Video Clip Creation
Video depositions may be segmented at any level of granularity - at the level of a word, or at the level of an entire paragraph.
Vivify your documents, photographs, graphics, video, and other exhibits with dynamic animations, transitions and other ornamentation to engage your audience
While some lawyers try to handle the digital computing and communication equipment themselves, it is best to hire an expert courtroom technician who will be there to support you throughout the trial, configuring, operating, and troubleshooting the courtroom equipment.
Before trial, our team works to construct an organized database of your important documents. You’ll be able to easily access these files whenever you need them.
During the trial, we’ll operate all the software and audio-visual equipment necessary to display your documents, graphics, and videos. By hiring Jan Brown & Associates, your trial team gains a valuable member whose skill and experience will allow you to seamlessly present exhibits and evidence.
We have the hardware, the software, and the experts to present your exhibits and video to the judge and jury using Trial Director, Sanction, Visionary, OnCue, TrialPad, ExhibitView or PowerPoint. Our trial presentation specialists will storyboard, sequence and design the presentation you have in mind, digitize all documents and build presentations that tell a powerful story and win cases.
Whatever your trial presentation needs, we make it happen.

Jan Brown & Associates can scan all exhibits and upload transcripts for storage on our online cloud repository.
